Embassy of Switzerland in Cameroon

As the official representation of Switzerland, the Embassy covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations between the two countries. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic, financial and legal affairs, as well as science, education and culture.

Responsibilities

The Swiss embassy represents Switzerland's interests in the country and provides consular services and visa support for people resident in Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Central African Republic.

Due to technical problems at the Yaoundé representation, answer times may be extended.

• Beware of visa scams

  Please be aware that visa scams exist. Fraudulent companies offer websites that claim to offer assistance in obtaining a visa and charge a fee for providing information.

  Only the Embassy's website is authoritative, and only the Embassy has the authority to decide whether to issue a visa. The Embassy provides you with free visa application forms and informs on procedures without any charges.

  The fees for a Swiss visa are paid in cash only at the counter of the Embassy and the visa applicant must appear in person.

• Measures for entering Switzerland

  Since 2 May 2022, the normal entry requirements for Switzerland will apply again and currently there are no pandemic-related entry restrictions.

  All infomation about entering Switzerland is available on the website of the State Secretariat for Migration. To find out which measures apply to your particular situation, you can use the Travelcheck tool (the result of the consultation does not guarantee a visa).

  Making an appointment and filling in the visa application form are free of charge. Please expect long waiting times.

• Swiss nationals in Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and the Central African Republic

  For Swiss nationals, visits to the Embassy are possible without appointment from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 11:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00.

  If you have not already done so, please register on TravelAdmin. This will enable those registered to be kept informed and to be contacted in the event of an emergency.

  In case of any emergencies, please contact the Swiss Embassy in Yaounde.

• Swiss identity documents

  Requests for identity documents are made by registering online. Once you have registered, our service will arrange an appointment for you.

• Situation in the Central African Republic

  Travel to and stays in the Central African Republic are not recommended.
